Iconic table lamp designed in 1965 by Gae Aulenti
The Pipistrello table lamp is a design icon from 1965, and it is still trendy, here more than 50 years later. The table lamp has a stainless steel telescopic system that makes it possible to adjust the height from 66 to 86 cm, and the lampshade is of opal methacrylate. When the table lamp was produced in 1965, the lampshade's casting technique was unique and innovative for its time. The angular shapes of the shade resemble the wings of a bat, meaning Pipistrello in Italian.
The Pipistello table lamp is today world-famous and is in several museums around the world.
Shortly after its presentation in 1965, the table lamp was named a timeless classic, and is now available in several colours and variants, sizes and equipped with today's LED. However, this version is the original with E14 sockets.
