Spotlights Bedroom

Obtain great lighting in your bedroom with stylish spots

Get your bedroom lighting right and your bedroom will be transformed, even if nothing else changes. Although the main function of a bedroom is to provide a restful place to sleep, the right lighting is essential for getting the most out of your waking moments in the bedroom.

When choosing a bedroom spotlight, think about:

  • How much light you want
  • Whether you want a dimmer light
  • Whether the light needs to be adjustable or fixed
  • Whether the power supply will come from the mains or a battery-powered lamp

Spotlights are often associated with direct, harsh light but at Lampefeber we are proud to break that misconception, with a huge selection of stunning bedroom spotlights including downlights, ceiling spotlights, wall spotlights and recessed light boxes, all compatible with LED bulbs of different brightness levels. This gives you the complete flexibility to personalise your bedroom lighting to suit your life.

Bedroom spotlights are one of the most popular choices of bedroom lighting thanks to their practicality and the sheer amount of choice available. At Lampefeber we are extremely proud to offer a wide range of bedroom lighting solutions from award-winning international designers Marset, Fabbian and many more.

Bedroom spotlights: how to choose the right style

The best choice of lighting for your bedroom will depend on a number of factors, including the size of your bedroom, your interior decor and the level of illumination you want to achieve.

As a bedroom spotlight, downlights create a softer, more indirect light. Wall and ceiling spotlights can be fixed or adjustable depending on the design of the light. Adjustable spotlights can be used to light any area you need, and they’re a great way to enhance a feature too.

The best place to start is: what do you want from your bedroom?

Functionality

For a bedroom light with functionality, a spotlight is a practical solution with flexibility and dimmer options are a good place to start. For a functional space, you can’t go wrong with adjustable bedroom spotlights which can be moved to provide direct light in whichever direction you need. A strip of ceiling track spotlights is perfect if you want to illuminate all corners of your bedroom without fitting several bedroom spotlights.

Single or double ceiling spotlights well over a desk or dressing table where you need high-quality light to avoid straining your eyes.

A cosy atmosphere

Spotlights can be cosy too! Recessed or downlight spotlights in warm white bulb are a wonderful choice for creating a warm, cosy atmosphere. At Lampefeber we have a variety of downlight spotlights with and without lampshades, so you’re sure to find the perfect bedroom spotlight to create the ambience you want.

Flexibility

Adjustable dimmer spotlights are a great all-round choice, offering dim, ambient lighting as well as bright, direct light. Dimmer spotlights are the ideal choice for a bedroom ceiling where there are no other lights or lamps - because they offer it all.

When you combine different types of spotlights you can transform the ambience of the room with the flick of a switch, from bright as day to soft and romantic.

Bedroom spotlights: where to place them

Getting the position of your new bedroom light right can be one of the biggest dilemmas of decorating. The issue is, you often won’t spot a problem with your lighting until the job is complete and it’s too late. At Lampefeber we’re here to make sure you have all the information you need to create beautiful illumination in your bedroom and throughout your home.

Illuminate the important areas

When placing your bedroom spotlight, make sure it will properly illuminate the areas you need, such as your wardrobe, dressing table, walkways and any other spaces you will need to be able to see properly. Spotlights give you the flexibility to light up different areas based on your needs at that moment, however, fixed fittings are great for reliable lighting whenever you need it.

Avoid lighting directly above your bed

If possible, avoid installing a bedroom spotlight fitting directly above your bed without considering the angle and brightness of the light, especially if you intend to control it while you’re lying in bed. A beam of bright light in the eyes first thing in the morning is not to everyone’s taste!

Wall spotlights fitted at the side of the bed make a great reading lamp and table lamp combined, as you can adjust the light to where you need it.

Choose the right bulb brightness

On the other hand, a light that is too bright in the wrong area such as above the bed, or even reflected in a mirror, it can affect the whole feeling of a room - and your comfort too. To see if a spotlight will be too bright for an area, test it out with a torch, You’ll be able to see where the light will be focused and if you’re happy with it.

The brightness of a bulb is measured in lumens. The scale ranges from 1 - 100, with 1 being barely any visible light to incredible brightness at 100 lumens. You’ll want to bear this in mind when choosing the bulb for your bedroom spotlight to make sure it is well-suited to the area and your taste.

Choose the right shade of bulb

The shade, or colour, of light, is measured using the Kelvin scale (k) and ranges from warm colours down at the bottom end of the scale (2400 k) and cooler colours at the top end (6500 k). Generally, warmer shades feel more welcoming and cosy while cooler colours feel brighter and more illuminating.
